Hmmmm...sorry for the super awkward pose here. Not sure what's going on with that. Anyway, wanted to start out with a warning that you will be seeing a lot of this sweater in the next few months. It was a major splurge for me, and only one that I made after I earned some extra cash at the consignment shop. I bought it during the 25% off $150 promo J.Crew ran last month. I had the most difficult time deciding between this one and the red one with burgundy dots. I reeeeeeally wanted to buy both, but that would have put me over the edge of sanity with the price tags. Even with the sale price of $179.99 + 25% off, it was a splurge for me, for a sweater. But I love it so much, and so far, so good: No pilling or pulling today on the first time wearing it, so I'm hoping the quality of the cashmere is worth the hefty price tag. I traded in about 40 old sweaters that I hadn't worn in years for this one beauty! I don't regret that decision for one minute...I felt like a million bucks all day.
If you are considering splurging on this sweater, let me add a note on fit: This is a size small and it fits great. A tad bit big in the torso area, but I get that with most sweaters. An XS would have been too tight in the arms, and a medium would have been too big, so my opinion is this sweater fits TTS.
How do you feel about splurging on one special item? Thanks for reading!
I have tried on the burgundy dot version in store and am amazed how soft this cashmere sweater is. It would be a major splurge for me if I decide to bite. Looks so cute on you!
ReplyDeleteIt was a major splurge, trust me! I hope I love it for years to come. Thanks! Love the burgundy one too.
DeleteSuch a cute splurge item! I don't blame you :) I splurged on the cashmere zip hoodie and am so glad I did, I wear it so often at work. Oh cashmere splurges - never a bad thing.

Nice! I agree, cashmere is always an investment!
DeleteThis looks great!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a cheapo, but one income does that to you :(
Ha totally understand!
DeleteSo gorgeous, and you made the right choice color wise. The burgundy would not work well in the spring, but the green will be cute year round!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn't think of that, but you are totally right!
DeleteNice color combinations! I love J.Crew's super 120's skirt and I actually have the same purple one you have on! Old Navy has a dupe of that same sweater (almost the same hue of green and navy polka dots) for $30 or so (but of course its cotten). Since I cannot get myself to splurge on J.Crew's sweaters, I went with Old Navy instead.
