Let's hit the town in sequins and pattern!

Sunlight Paillette shell:  Ann Taylor, Holiday 2011
Crinkle silk tiered mini skirt:  J.Crew, fall 2010
Leopard heels:  Banana Republic Mad Men Collection, fall 2011
This weekend we had the very rare occurance of adult plans for both Friday and Saturday nights.  Working- mom guilt aside ("Mom and Dad, you're going out again? We miss you!"), we had two fantastic nights out and of course I loved having two nights to dress up.  This first picture is what I wore out for dinner, drinks and dancing on Friday night.  The paillettes on my top in this picture are kind of over the top!  They're very large and shiny!  But you know what...when you wear a top this bold you kind of have to just own it.  I did wear my camel leather jacket to tone it down:

Camel leather jacket:  Banana Republic, old
Handbag:  Louis Vuitton Speedy

And now for one awesome beauty secret:  For gleamy legs, I use this amazing product in medium glow.  I hate nylons and usually only wear tights for work, so when I want some extra color for my legs, especially during the cold months, this product is wonderful.  You'd almost think I was wearing hose in this pictures, but nope.  This product does a great job of hiding flaws and giving my legs a nice glow.  Give it a try!

Ok, my second OOTE for the weekend:

Silk dress:  Lilly Pulitzer, holiday 2011
Nude heels:  Max Studio
Invitation clutch in colorblock, orange and fuschia:  J.Crew, here

I wore this for a couples shower/cocktail party on Saturday night.  When I was a little girl, my beloved grandmother wore a full length, colorful dress every Christmas that had a colorful pattern that looked like stained glass.  The pattern on this dress totally reminds me of my grandma's pattern!  This is the third time I've worn this dress, and each time I have felt quite retro-chic in it.  It's just a really fun dress to wear, and the short length is compensated by the more modest sleeves and neckline.  I adore it and it is definitely one of my favorite go-to dresses for cocktail attire.  The headband lasted about an hour into the party, until I felt like it was squeezing my brain and had to take it off.  I'm kind of fidgety like that.

I hope you enjoyed my evening looks!  Now I'll resume watching Max & Ruby in my jammies with my two year old.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

  2. Love the night out outfit! It's so nice to get all dressed up for a night out on the town :) Seriously, J. Crew used to make the cutest mini skirts for that, they are some of my favorite closet treasures!

  3. Love these looks! Especially the first, the shininess! :) And I can't wear headbands for much longer than that either.

    1. Thanks so much! The headbands always bother me a little more after I've had a glass or two of wine...my brain is being squeezed too much I think, haha!
