Today was a cold, blustery day straight from the depths of winter here, and I really felt like choosing function over fashion and hiding out in my winter coat and scarf all day. But the fact that I haven't posted an OOTD in 3 days, along with an important lunch presentation, convinced me to make an effort. I'm glad I did, as I felt good all day in this outfit and had the confidence to do well during my presentation. Dressing well really has a big impact on how I present myself to the world. Do you feel the same?
Thanks for reading!
i admit i faltered with my normal first part of the week skirt sets here as i got drenched on my way to work so jeans today but hopefully better weather tomorrow will allow me to wear a skirt. so jeans, a comfy sweater, a scarf, and boots are it for me today - but on days when i do dress up more i feel a lot more professional and...mature. ;)
ReplyDeletelove the pink bubble necklace!
Jeans, a sweater and boots definitely sounds comfy for the rain!

DeleteI love the garden shade print - you look fantastic in it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! I do love the print, wish I had bought the skirt too!
DeleteStunning look! Love the design patterns.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteI definitely feel more confident when dressed nice in a suite or dress. I do enjoy skirt suites and seperates. A issue I have working in a office environment with a lot of male coworkers is that I tend to wear pant suites that are very bland. This makes me feel like I'm blending into the environment.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about days when I've worn skirts or dresses that I'm not seen just as a coworker, but a woman. So I tend to be a bit more conscious when wearing skirts and dresses at work. How do you handle the feeling as being seen as a woman in the way you dress versus just a coworker?
Citygal32, what an interesting point you bring up regarding dressing for the work environment. I totally understand where you're coming from and I think you just gave me a great idea for a blog post. I do like to dress feminine, and I think it's completely possible to look feminine AND professional. I definitely do NOT dress sexy for the corporate world. That's just not appropriate in my job. Thanks for the great question!
DeleteLove the print of this dress. For me personally, I think I would prefer this look without the bubble necklace, as the jacket is a bold, interesting design and the necklace somewhat "competes" IMO. This is just personal preference, no offense intended- you and your wardrobe are stunning every day!

Kristin, NO offense taken at all! I always appreciate others' opinions and constructive advice! And you're right...there's a lot going on here in this outfit! Lol. Thanks so much for reading!
