Banana Republic Ankle Boots

Silk dress (size 4):  Lilly Pulitzer, 2010
Small gold coast Maryanne handbag:  Kate Spade
Ankle boots:  Banana Republic
Bubble necklace:  J.Crew Factory
Hope everyone has had a great weekend!  I"m a little exhasted today...our weekends are kind of crazy between kid activities and nights out. I keep telling myself we're going to have a quiet weekend one of these days, but fun plans seem to always crop up.  We were invited to a wine tasting downtown last night, and this is what I wore.  I am late to the ankle boot look but I think I kind of love it.  I was hestitant to try it for fear of looking like I had cankles, but when I found these boots on super sale in Banana Republic last month, I decided to give them a shot.  The SA suggested wearing them with a dress and no tights, so that's what I did for their first time out.  She also suggested wearing them with skinny jeans rolled up, and I think that sounds really cute as well.

Do you like ankle boots, and if so, how do you style them?

Thanks for visiting!

  1. I love this bright outfit. Now it feels like spring is (finally) here! LOL! This is going to inspire me to wear something fun and cheerful to work tomorrow.

Gosh I love that purse. I have a similar color but it hasn't seen the light of day in six months. Might be time to switch purses!

    1. We're still going back and forth between springy and winter-y weather, but this night was warm enough to go bare legged! I am ready for spring!

  2. Those boots look great with that outfit! Beautiful dress!
I live in ankle boots in the winter - I've always loved them as they suit my short legs! I think the key to wearing them with dresses and skirts is to make sure the proportions are right. Ankle boots look great with cuffed jeans and leggings. I wear mine with J Crew Minnie pants, too. The pants hit just at where the boots start.

  3. Ouu cute boots! I adore ankle boots (but I prefer a thicker heel, just so I can easily wear them all day) and my favorite way to wear them is with skinny jeans slightly rolled with fun socks showing a bit. Preferably polka dots ;)

Your dress is so cute! You're all decked out for Spring :D

  4. I love the spring vibe, which means we'll see more outfits featuring Lilly Pulitzer from you! I agree with Tasia--I like ankle boots with skinny jeans rolled up and cute socks peeking out. I used to wear ankle boots several years ago, but I haven't really been able to get much into them again since.

    1. Yes they seem to go in and out of style, I was seeing them everywhere all winter but didn't want to commit. I think I paid $53 for these (Originally $130 or so?) and I thought that was a good price!
