Gray tartan + schoolboy

Schoolboy blazer in heather gray (size 6): J.Crew Factory, 2009
Boy shirt in gray tartan flannel (size 6): J.Crew, fall 2012
Wool cafe capri in maraschino cherry (size 6 Tall): J.Crew, fall 2011, this year's version here
Black pumps: Nine West, similar here
So I am fully aware that I look more "Christmastime" than "springtime."  But considering there were snowflakes swirling around all day, I didn't feel too out of place and in fact this may be one of my favorite outfits since starting this blog.  I bought this flannel shirt on random popback a couple weeks ago, I think I paid around $27.99 after the 30% off.  I was on the fence since spring is hopefully around the corner, but I knew I wouldn't regret it.  I absolutely love it and have worn it several times now already, casually and now professionally.  Don't you love when you pick out a winner?

Thanks for visiting!

  1. I looooove this outfit! I don't think I ever would have purchased that shirt (it would have seemed too masculine and strictly casual to me), but now seeing it how you have it styled I love it! Even better that it was such a great deal! I'm in St. Louis, and we're supposed to be getting some snow this weekend, so I think your outfit is perfectly suited for this "spring" weather!

    1. Thanks so much! I agree, I felt the same...questioning whether it was like a guy's shirt? But I always love this plaid flannels on other ladies so I gave it a try...it's sooo cozy and I like how it looks under blazers!

  2. I love this outfit too--it's probably one of my favorites! Lucky you for scoring this shirt on popback and for such a deal. You'll get a lot of wear from it over time.

    2. I purchased the shirt last fall, shortly after it appeared in my store. Loved wearing it, and I love seeing how you style it! Unlike many, I did not quit wearing it after the holidays. Except for this weekend, we are having warmer temps. Mine has sadly been put away until next fall and winter!
