Tunic (size 2): Lilly Pulitzer, 2010
White skinny ankle jeans (size 28): Banana Repulic, here
Gold navajo wedges: Jack Rogers
|
Tuesday but it feels like Monday doesn't it? I wore this outfit for a casual day with the kids over Memorial Day weekend. I've been on the hunt for a pair of white skinny ankle jeans for a while and finally settled on this pair from Banana Republic. I looked at the reviews online and it seems like not many people like them, most reviews claimed they run small. I did not find this to be the case. In fact I was prepared to size up to a 29 because tight white jeans are just no good...but the 28 fit great and the 29 was huge. They hit right above my ankles and are not too see-through, which is always my concern with white denim. So I guess try them on and make sure of the sizing, if you order online you may want to order 2 sizes and just return the ones that don't fit.
I'm not really a big tunic-wearer. I love the look of them on other women but for some reason I always get a frumpy feeling in them. Not so much with this one, which I have had for years. I always loved it but do not wear it much as I always feel like it goes from being too cold for tunics to too hot in about 5 seconds here in Cincinnati. Memorial Day weekend here was on the cool side so it was finally the opportunity to wear it.
Do you like tunics? How do you wear them without feeling frumpy? Thanks for visiting!
I like this look on you - it's all summery dressy-cas.The JRs are awesome!

ReplyDeleteYou don't look frumpy at all. I always feel good in tunics. Like I'm covered, ready for mommy business and chic.

ReplyDeleteDear Jeannie, I hope this poem by Emily Dickinson will give some comfort during this heartbreaking time.
ReplyDeleteA poor—torn heart—a tattered heart—
That sat it down to rest—
Nor noticed that the Ebbing Day
Flowed silver to the West—
Nor noticed Night did soft descend—
Nor Constellation burn—
Intent upon the vision
Of latitudes unknown.
The angels—happening that way
This dusty heart espied—
Tenderly took it up from toil
And carried it to God—
There—sandals for the Barefoot—
There—gathered from the gales—
Do the blue havens by the hand
Lead the wandering Sails.
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your husband, my heart goes out to you and your beautiful boys.
